Red, White & Royal Blue book review

‘Red, White & Royal Blue’ Book Review

The bestselling author, Casey McQuiston, wrote the romance novel “Red, White & Royal Blue”, published in 2019.

My Thoughts

Well, that was something. The book deals with the romance between the son of the POTUS Alex Claremont-Diaz and the son of the Royal Family, Prince Henry. That sounds exciting for the time being. What political consequences could this have? How will it be treated in the media? How are families dealing with it?

Unfortunately, all these questions are hardly answered because the plot of this book is a bit bland. Don’t get me wrong, the author wrote a delightful book, but at the same time, it idealises political views too much. And therefore, this book became incredibly predictable for me. Also, the main protagonist, Alex, was just an annoying character for me because of his behaviour. At least, it contains excellent banter and a lot of humour. However, you shouldn’t probably take the content rather too seriously.

If you like a light-hearted story about two men who fall in love and would like to read a novel in which everything is in vain bliss, this is the right place for you.

My rating for ‘Red, White & Royal Blue’

2 stars rating

There may have been a few parts I liked. But in general, it wasn’t my cup of tea.
